ABOUT US

Redgates Theatre is based in Hackney Wick, formerly the world's most concentrated artistic community; we showcase talent and produce theatre & performance from our resident home in a converted warehouse.

Producers of GATEWAYS, an original writing showcase that occurs 4 times a year - presenting the world's finest emerging writing and performers, attended by local artists and industry professionals.

We have assisted in casting over 50 roles across Theatre and Film projects London.

Andy McCredie
Artistic Director

I founded Redgates Theatre in Autumn 2017, using the communal space of the converted warehouse that I live in to host the very first GATEWAYS, and have since co-hosted other successful events with popular music platforms from around London. I am an Actor, I've trained with Hackney Showroom Young Actors and The Actors Class, and have worked professionally across the UK and internationally. Alongside this, I write spoken-word poetry and scripts for stage and screen - I'm currently developing my first short film, 'Underground' with Georgia Williams, directed by Christopher Chuky. I also work as an actors headshot photographer, using the warehouse as my studio.

Phao May
Managing Director

I joined Redgates Theatre as a Director for the very first GATEWAYS in Autumn 2017, and now run the company alongside Andy, mainly focusing on direction during productions and producing. I am a London-based Actor, Director and Neo-Burlesque performer(Marlene Peach). I am a current member of National Youth Theatre. I have also performed various pieces of new writing at both the Brighton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals and have directed for youth theatres and schools across the South-East of England.

Shona Graham
Administrator

I joined Redgates Theatre for the first Gateways in 2017 and now help with casting and social media and general admin. I’m a Durham University graduate and an Actor by trade; having appeared in numerous plays, tours and films, it’s a pleasure to bring my expertise to the company. I’m also just foraying into writing, with projects in development for the near future.
